Keep Our Antennas Up

When we hear the word testimony, we often think of stories where God did a supernatural work in or through someone’s life. Though the Lord moved in many ways during REHYDRATE, this particular testimony is, I believe that the Lord gave me a reproachment (a rebuke or correction).
There was a guy at breakfast on Saturday who had not been attending the conference. He was sitting against the back wall and his eyes were darting around. You could tell that kid probably needs some prayer ministry. People were giving food, but no one was praying with him, so God said, “Go minister to him.” I got up, and while making my way across the the room I got side tracked. Someone wanted to take take a picture me. When we finished, I looked around and he was gone. It landed heavy on my heart that I missed an opportunity to minister to somebody.
We need to be ready with our witness, the Gospel, and willing to pray for strangers. I knew he wasn’t part of our group and it appeared that kid had an evil spirt. I should have immediately got up when I felt the “tap” and gone to speak with him.
We need to keep our antennas up and be sensitive to what the Spirit is bringing into our lives. The Lord is forgiving, but we need to be sensitive. As Paul told the Galatians to walk by the Spirit and live by the Spirit, we need to actively pursue a life of obedience to God, not only in regard to sin, but in our engagement with other people as He directs. I praise God for opportunities like REHYDRATE where we can get together and encourage one another.
