GSFA Missions Consultation Roundtable
As the stories continued, I couldn’t take it anymore; I felt I had to pray or burst. I asked for the microphone then asked to pray. I was broken. My voice cracked the whole way through as the room approached the throne of Grace with confidence.

In May, the Global South Fellowship of Anglican Churches (GSFA) held its first Missions Consultation Roundtable. The purpose was specifically to map the different missions within our Provinces and to strategize with other GSFA partners on how best to meet the practical and missional needs.
This second Missions Roundtable in October took the framework established in May and put boots on the ground. Provincial leaders ate, worshiped, and fellowshipped with leaders of mission and support agencies. It was the economic equivalent of missional supply and demand. It was beautiful and highly fruitful.
On the fourth day, Provincial leaders shared hardships and varied needs. Civil wars, poverty, hunger, death, and Christians killing Christians. One leader stated, “The Global South has formational issues in the church. Many countries are majority Christian, yet we still kill each other, hold power over each other, and engage in corruption.” Yet, these are not just Global South issues; pick any nation, and these still exist in varying degrees because of the same issue…sin
As the stories continued, I couldn’t take it anymore; I felt I had to pray or burst. I asked for the microphone then asked to pray. I was broken. My voice cracked the whole way through as the room approached the throne of Grace with confidence. At breakfast on the last morning, I asked my new friend from Madagascar if he had a spiritual highlight from the week. He said, “It was your prayer.” I thought I misunderstood, so I asked him again. He gave me the same answer, but it still didn’t compute. So, I chalked it up to this: when we follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, we never know how God might use us. So, I challenge us to this simple decision: each morning, resolve to live and move and have your being in the Holy Spirit.
